About
Hello! My name is Zev and I am an undergraduate student in my fourth year of the Pure Mathematics program at the University of Waterloo. I entered with the Mathematics National Scholarship, which is awarded to only 15 students each year. I have received a grade of over 90% in every math course I have taken, which includes courses in math, pure math, computer science, and statistics. I have also been a teaching assistant for three terms.
In 2020 I graduated from the Academy for Gifted Children: PACE. I have Grade 9, 10, 11 and three Grade 12 Gifted Math Credits and received a final grade of 100% in all six of those courses. I also received a final grade of 100% in Grade 11 and 12 Computer Science, Grade 12 Chemistry and Grade 12 Physics.
I was one of 83 students from across Canada to write the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad in 2020. I have also won awards of distinction in the Mathematica Centrum Contest for 6 years. I was one of the 16 people in the #1 honour roll category in the 2019 Grade 11 University of Waterloo Fermat math contest.
I was elected Student Council Treasurer for my Grade 10, 11 and 12 years, and I am currently the treasurer for a university club. I have done multiple march break math programs, as well as a math mentorship program run by the University of Toronto. I have participated in many non-math extracurricular activities as well, including trivia, improv, D&D, Model UN, and writing for the school newspaper.
